You’ve seen videos where people have their CPU, GPU and other computer system statistics displayed on screen while they’re gaming and you want to know how they’re doing it. There’s a lot of different ways to achieve this but two of the most popular pieces of system monitoring software used by many, many people are MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner. Using these utilities you can monitor almost every aspect of your system and display them in an overlay while running a game or other 3D application. In this video I show you where to get MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner, how to install them and how to get your system stats to display on screen. Hope you enjoy. Cheers! 🙂

  2. i have a general question. if i have set a limit of lets say 59.98 in rtss for fps cap and in game 58 fps. is the rtss limiter disabled does the rtss limiter affect my game? my question is because i have a setup for my rtss for general games but some games have ingame limiter. to avoid going always out and disabling rtss i wanted to know if rtss kicks still in even if my ingame cap is lower than the one of the RTSS. i do this for avoiding high input lags. and some values are even better for this. and especially ingame caps are better tho. thats why my question.

  3. What do the colors indicate? Running Portal 2 maxed with an i5 10400f with a 3070. Sometimes the colors are yellow, sometimes orange, and sometimes dark orange

  4. Hey Dude, you talk TO much, and give unneccesary repeating info,. Example id how much you talked about cpu cores. Keep it simple

  5. Any updates on the MSI afterburner ? I like what you did, so I’ll check out your other stuff. Thanks

  6. Kinda weird but windows removed the DirextX end-user Runtime download. However i found ti again on Web Archive, that thing i super useful if webpages are gone removed or what ever.

Here, always check web archive. You can find most pages which are or removed

After this i got it work, nice 🙂

  7. I dont see anything show up. Is it correct this only works on desktops and thus not say gtx 1660Ti in a laptop?

  8. Question, i noticed it with your version as well. Do you happen to know why Mv is on zero. It doesnt seem to be able to read out volt usage?!

  9. WHen doing a fresh install, everything is checked. Thought i let you know. Thanks for making this very clear video!

  10. I can’t find CPU temperature option, only CPU usage. Did MSI remove it on the new Afterburner version?

  11. my afterburner is not showing the cpu temp. at the list i can see the cpu usage but no temp for me how can i enable it?

  12. I been meaning to get this running for YEARS. Never had the patience to sit down and get it done but you got me there!

  13. Lol, he’s like me– just a normal dude who learned about the stuff from playing around with it haha.

    thanks, very informative.

  14. Bro I think you did amazing job ✔️👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks very Understandable I just need help how to set the fan to cool down my GPU a little bit better not a lot just a little bit it’s averaging around 76 78 while playing.

  15. Fantastic Tutorial, thanks so much for posting this, it was REALLY helpful in setting up my RT on screen stuff, which I’d struggled with for MONTHS!

  16. how do you get it to show more then 6 items. I keep checking and applying in monitoring “in OSD” but it just never seems to show more then 6 lines????

  17. Not everything is showing on my monitor, i would like to see the Frametime and FPS min max but its not showing on my screen. Its all enabled in the tab monitoring.
The rest is just showing up fine.

  18. I checked and tick the box(show on screen display yadayada) of the framerate max, min, average but it only shows framerate (d3d11) in short it’s incomplete

  19. Totally annoying video. First 5min. are boring. The rest is like going al over the place except forward…. slooooowwww…. A real compu geek, cool stuff, but no presentation skills.

  20. there’s an error appears when installing RivaTuner… dxwebsetup.exe cant be found something like that, when i checked the Redist folder it was there… hope you can help here

  21. Does MSI Afterburner take over all systems, like does everything go manual and i have to change every single thing?
I have Armoury Crate and id like it to be still the one controlling everything because im scared i might adjust a setting too high and do damage.

I have a Zephyrus GA502D if that info helps

  22. does the FPS number always have to be limited to the monitors refresh rate? i can run valorant at 200+ FPS minimum but it only ever reads 144 because i have a 144Hz monitor.

  23. Does anyone know how to fix the cpu clock speed mine does not go out of 4400MHz, do not move .. is it Bug?

  24. what is wrong with this program i am selecting cpu temp monitoring and after that show on-screen display and NOTHING is happening, COMPLETELY NOTHING. Everything else i want is on the screen while gaming-my gpu temps and my fps BUT not the cpu temperature. And i dont know how it happened cuz i am monitoring this stuff for an year and even more and just now it decided to refresh my msi 🙂
So ye i dont have a fix for forcing this stupid program to monitor my CPU temp

  25. 6:04 “Im just a normal dude, enjoying looking at this stuff” me too, but a bit different tho

  26. Great video bud. I’m a noob. Just upgraded my gpu n psu for the 1st time ever. Went with rx 5700. N wanna track my gpu temp. Ty for video. And also my fan isn’t running on gpu. Not sure if it’s just bc it’s not hot enough yet idk. But gonna do this n see what’s going on. Ty
